ResDelta Grid Carbon Index · Independent measurements of the Turkish power grid
An annual factor hides the variation within each day. We measured the hourly shape.
the dirtiest 5% of hours are 2.24 times the cleanest 5%.
Last 12 months: 372.7 gCO₂/kWh
Aligned with Türkiye’s official annual grid factor, tailored to Turkish reporting requirements, and available with its complete history as free downloads.
Profile by hour of day
The cleanest hour is 18:00 at 340.6 gCO₂/kWh; the dirtiest is 06:00 at 405.6 gCO₂/kWh.
Monthly history
Unlike the imbalance index, this is a measured historical series: 128 monthly observations from January 2016.
Annual series and official anchoring
The hourly shape comes from EPİAŞ generation data; the level is anchored to the Ministry’s official annual factor. The 2023 annual bar therefore matches 434.0 gCO₂/kWh.
Known bias: midday hours appear dirtier
Unlicensed solar generation is absent from the EPİAŞ series, biasing daytime intensity upward. We publish this limitation visibly because auditability is part of the index.
| Hour | Bias |
|---|---|
| 00–05 | ~0% |
| 07 | −3,7% |
| 09 | −9,0% |
| 12 | −11,2% |
| 15 | −8,6% |
| 18 | −1,2% |
